Casa Batlló was built with inspiration from nature, in Catalonia’s eye-catching Modernist style. It earned the name ‘House of Bones’ thanks to its facades, shaped like natural corals. The chimney pots adorned with Gaudí’s signature Trencadís mosaic work and his use of colors needs no extra filters from your phone. Casa Batlló is so fantastical, you could look at it for hours!
La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà, was designed as a fashionable home for the well-to-do Milà family. The name Pedrera was used locally to describe the building, thanks to its stone-like appearance, (the word “Pedrera” means “Quarry”) and this modern masterpiece will definitely rock your world.
Constructed from 1883 to 1889, Casa Vicens is the first home designed by the great architect of Modernisme. Built as a family home for tile business owner Manuel Vicens, it’s a striking example of an inspired mind at work, and the extravagant exterior with Moorish influences and a protruding corner tower sowed the seeds for Gaudí’s later works.
